• The I-94 Modernization Project tackles the reconstruction of the I-94 freeway in downtown Detroit and includes the I-75 interchange. 

• The original Milwaukee Street Bridge over I-75 was opened in 1983 and is being replaced by Toebe Construction as part of this project because of its poor structural condition. 

• UL-FGA G15 foamed glass aggregate was shipped to the project site in large 3.6-cy supersacks. 

• UL-FGA is being used as part of the lightweight fill behind the new abutments of the Milwaukee Street Bridge because of an existing electric utility and associated heat, flammability, and access concerns.
